Location: North Iditarod Trail from mile 72 1/2 trailhead
Skied Iditarod Trail from mile 72.5 to 2nd or Southern Ingram creek crossing.
Icy snow and ice in the trees. Crusty snow in open areas. Above treeline,
crust supports skiers. Below this crust layer faceted snow.
Starting to see some surface hoar developing above treeline. Point releases on
the North side of Tincan in between rock outcroppings.
Misty skies when we departed about 10 am, clear skies as the day developed.
Temps seemed a couple of degrees below freezing but when we approached the creek
temps dropped. No wind.
