Route & General Observations

Large recent avalanches visible in North Bowl and north-facing slope of adjacent Hunter Pass, popular skiing and hiking destinations in the South Fork valley in Eagle River. Observation made from 6 miles away in Eagle River valley, so detailed information is not available. Both slide paths appear to be hundreds of feet wide and long. Vegetation visible in the Hunter Pass slide path suggests failure on basal facets.
