Weather

14 degrees F. No new snow overnight. Mild wind from SW 3 mph near ridges. Cloud coverage from 1600' to 2500'

Snow surface

Approx. 25 cm of dry loose snow. Some ripples, evidence of wind on windward side of face above tree line. Snow surface pristine near tree line.

Snowpack

Pit dug on NNW aspect on 5 degree slope. Approx. 35 cm depth total. 25 cm dry loose snow, atop 10 cm deep facet, atop 1 cm of ice. Stability (compression test) test shows CTH with resistant planar shearing at 10 cm.
