Route & General Observations

Toured up to the mile high saddle headed towards Tucker. En route to Tucker experienced collapsing/whumpfing at around 2500 ft. Dug a 130 cm deep pit at 2560’ on a NW facing slope and had CT24 failing on facets above a crust snow interface 30 cm down and ECTX. Surprised to not get propagation on our ECT given the collapsing we were experiencing in the area. We did dig our pit in an area that had a deeper snow pack than the surrounding area, which may have influenced our results. Given the widespread whoomphing we turned around prior to skiing Tucker and headed for the parking lot. On the drive out we noted several new wet loose avalanches on south facing slopes.
