Route & General Observations

Skied a few laps from the wx station on Max’s WSW face today. Dug a quick pit
and did an ECT at an elevation near the highest trees on a slope I thought to be
representative of the one we would ski from the top: ECTX. Snow height was
roughly 5′.

However, beforehand, I dug a pit lower on the mountain (mid glades), which
yielded different results: ECTN8 ~6″ deep, which seemed to be wind deposited.

Definitely some wind affect up there, but also some long sections of light
fluff. No sluffing, red flags, or other such signs of instability noted. Seems
like there may be some wind slabs in more obvious areas of deposition.

Didn’t really notice any slides further back in the Virgin Creek valley.

There was debris from previous small slides on the WSW aspect we skied, the
larger of which the partially buried skin track crossed over. Folks that were
up there this weekend seemed to have laid down a lot of tracks after these
slides had happened.
