Route & General Observations

Skied a few laps on Marmot, using standard uptrack.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Started mostly cloudy then cleared by 1pm, as accurately forecasted by the NWS :) Temps were in the single digits up top, but winds were calm.

Snow surface

Mixed bag down low with patches of melt-freeze crust and soft powder on the uptrack. Main Marmot run had 4-6" dust on crust while run below the weather station had a bit more. Overall, ski quality was pretty good, especially the higher up you went.

Snowpack

Dug a quick pit on the SSE facing slope a few hundred feet below the wx station (~4200 ft). HS = 130cm with top 25cm consisting of new or decompsong new snow (F to 4F). 2cm thick rain crust at 105cm and another thinner crust 20 cm below that. Rounds below that. Snowpack was bomber (ECTX). No signs of instability today
