Route & General Observations

Started from the cabin at 8:15 am. Didn’t measure temp but felt like it got warmer as we skinned up – maybe an inversion layer along the road? Stiff breezes from north and east.

Saw lots of snow transport on ridges – Manitoba, Spirit Walker, and Colorado.

Wind effect on the flats, 2,300 feet. Stiff gusts from north and east.

Stopped below the bench, 2,500 feet. Probed snowpack 70 cm deep, top 20 cm powder and bottom 50 cm crust. Decided not to go any higher due to concern that the wind had stripped snowpack down to last weekend’s un-fun crust.

Back at the cabin by 10:45 am.
