Location: Manitoba
Started at the parking lot at 1:30 PM. No wind, not a cloud in the sky, -2°, squeaky dry cold snow, surface hoar frost noted. Skin track and mountain pretty skied up but only 3 other parties out today. Around 2200’ a light breeze picked up (not enough to move snow) and stopped noting surface hoar. Powder was about 8” deep. Around 2300’ a punchy surface wind crust noted, getting noticeably stiffer up to summit. No whumpfing or shooting cracks noted. Back in the parking lot at 5:00 PM, -8°.
