Route & General Observations

Manitoba skin track to 2,750 feet of elevation, just above tree line.
Wind loading and cornices were the only red flag observed.

Weather

Light ENE winds with moderate gusts, light snow, overcast, 27.4 degrees f.

Snow surface

Wind effected snow forming a slab on top of about 8 cm loose, fresh, unsettled snow

Snowpack

Strong snow pack with a layer of concern at the surface and 30 cm down. At the surface a wind slab was on top of about 8 cm of new loose, fresh, unsettled snow. About 30 cm down, isolated distribution of un-reactive buried surface hoar. There was also 12 cm of un-reactive, moist basal facets underneath 28 cm of melt freeze forms.
