AAS L2 tour to Cornbiscuit/Magnum to dig in the snow.

Weather

Calm day with overcast skies.
Temperatures in the mid20s.
Light snow started at the end of the tour.

Snow surface

New snow with some rimed particles mixed in.
Ski penetration 15 cm at 1000'.
Ski quality good as long as alder snakes did not catch your skis.

Snowpack

1000': HS 90 cm.
1550': HS 110 cm. Right side up snowpack consisting of 20cm of new snow, 75cm of cohesive rounds and 15cm melt-freeze crusts/facets combo at the base. Moist basal facets at the ground.
Layer of concern: Rounding facets at the top of melt-freeze crust, shows high strength and low propagation propensity.
