Roller balls in the late afternoon, wetting of the surface snow and cornice face

Mostly sunny with a few clouds

Snow surface

3-6" of soft settled powder that became moist in the mid afternoon on Southerly aspects
Variable wind skin and wind crust over much of the terrain above the 2100' that we traveled through

Snowpack

Dug pit @ 3000', SW aspect, PMS bowl, 28 degree slope. HS: 210 cm. Did not dig to ground, specifically looking for the Feb 9th buried surface hoar. Found bsh 45 cm below the surface. CT 13 SP, CT 15 SP, CT 14 SP, ECTP 17.
