Route & General Observations

Glide crack observation mission. Toured up SW rib of Cornbiscuit to view the glide crack, traversed high, and toured up SW rib of Magnum to view another glide crack. Clear sky and cold temperatures, warmest in the low alpine on sunny faces. Widespread wind affected snow, but no significant wind slabs on our route. Dug a pit on Cornbiscuit @2560′, SW aspect, 28* slope. CTV, ECTN1 @5cm down (wind affected snow). CT8SC, ECTN8 @20cm down (new snow/old snow interface).
HS 155cm at pit location. Fist hard wind affected new snow down to 150cm, F- stellar dendrites from 150 to 135, and 4F to 1F down to the bottom of our pit.
