Route & General Observations

Skin up normal WSW ridge up track. Ski down S aspect. 2 pits dug at 2800’ elevation within 100 meters of 1 another.

Bluebird day, South wind 5mph, much solar heating with sun affected wet loose running short distances on southern slopes originating in steep rock bands. 1-2” fresh surface snow from previous day.

Pit 1 dug on More westerly aspect 32 slope angle and revealed much wind scouring this season with total depth of 50 cm. ECTN, CT21 in facets on crust 30cm from surface.

Pit 2 was on SW aspect at 30 slope angle and revealed much more consolidated snowpack. ECTN, CTX, however after much force able to trigger sudden planar at 135cm from surface, facets on crust.
