Route & General Observations

Skied up traditional Lyon Creek – Center Ridge trail in the am on 4/9/16 to a campsite at 1170 ft. Spent the night and skied out in the pm on 4/10/16.

Observer Comments

None observed on the south side of the highway. Many recent glide crack avalanches on Seattle Ridge.

Weather

Intermittent rain on Saturday to at least 1170 ft and rain most of the night into 4/10 am. Rain turned to snow approximately midmorning on 4/10. No significant snow accumulation. Skies began to clear by mid day on 4/10. Signs of wind transport of new snow observed on both Tincan and Sunburst ridges in the pm. See attached pics.

Snow surface

Unsupportable heavy wet snow to at least 1170 ft.

Snowpack

Heavy wet snowpack going isothermal. Not pits dug.
