Route & General Observations

Skied up the summer trail under clear skies. I noticed some surface hoar at the trailhead, but nowhere else. I dug a pit at 1175ft and did a full profile. I noticed some R1D1 avalanches from a week ago on the East faces of the Resurrection Peaks, but nothing recent. The past 2 days have seen light rain and I found the snowline ~800ft.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Clear, 3cm new snow ~800ft, light NE wind, 2C

Snow surface

There was a meltfreeze crust on the top 2cm of snow

Snowpack

The main weak layer I noticed was on a crust 15cm down from the snow surface. All results from the three separate tests I did had non-planar results and suggest relatively good stability at treeline. Although temperatures have risen significantly, at treeline and above, temps have not seen rapid melting and I did not see any recent signs of avalanching in those zones
