Red Flags
Red flags are simple visual clues that are a sign of potential avalanche danger. Please record any sign of red flags below.
Obvious signs of instability
Recent Avalanches?Yes
Collapsing (Whumphing)?Yes
Cracking (Shooting cracks)?Yes
Observer Comments

Many recent avalanches, new snow failing on old snow, D2, West > North > East, in elevations band 4,000' to 4800', likely occurred 1/25 to 1/28, all had new snow dusting on bed surfaces and debris.
Collapsing localized, generally small
Cracking localized, generally small, <15' long cracks
Natural dry loose avy activity with direct solar through the day, mostly triggered at rock bands, D1, max D1.5
