Route & General Observations

Wx indicated a pocket in the storm over Summit, although we had a hard time seeing any storm evidence. Started from the pull-out at 10:25am. 30° and calm, partly cloudy with lots of blue sky poking out. Could see clouds piled up to the north, occasional gusts of wind, and a little snow shower around 12:45pm and 1:25pm. Some wind scouring visible up high. Hand shear tests did not indicate a slab. Had 3 wonderful pow laps, only the slightest wind effect in the meadows. No whumphing, shooting cracks. Boot penetration at least knee deep. At 2400ft elevation and 1800ft elevation probed 120 cm deep. Back at the pull-out at 2:00pm – eight cars wedged in there!
