Standard up track opposite the summit lake pull out to enjoy some low angle laps on little japan in the sun

Observer Comments

Wet loose avalanches on east and south faces throughout summit. One large slab avalanche, that looked to be newer, that failed to the ground on a west facing aspect of a steeper slope in what I think was the quartz creek drainage. (Spotted as we drove north from the south end of the pass/hard to identify on a map retrospectively)

Snowpack

HS: 85 cm. East facing aspect. 30 deg slope. Elevation: 2450 ft
Shovel shear: 1 (very easy) at ground/ basal facets
CTV at 0 cm
ECTP22 at 0 and propagated up to 40 cm facet layer above Christmas crust. Facets still distinct above Christmas crust layer
