Standard route with a long southern traverse to tree ridge. We had a group of 7 kids and 5 adults. Our goal was to not get above treeline and take a couple runs (no signs of instability in the vicinity).
Dug a pit 5 feet deep, performed a ECT and didn’t budge after 30.
Did a shovel shear test with no reactive shearing. Then an adult skier above the pit and did a skier load test and produced a 16 inch slab failure.
