A large natural avalanche released overnight on Monday, Jan 16. The slide deposited a significant amount of debris on railroad tracks. A northbound train rain into the debris and became derailed. Two crew on board, no one hurt.

Avalanche released sometime before 1:50am on 1/17/23. Crown was estimated at 3-4’ deep with wide propagation.
