Observation: Hatcher Pass
Location: Independence Mine
Toured from parking lot up to Independence Mine area. Heavy SE winds, heavy windslabs on N-NW slopes. Snowpit performed adjacent to small slide on NW slope. Slide not actively witnessed, possibly remote-triggered from ~ 75m or natural. Loose dry avalanche also observed at Lost Couloir apron.
Obvious signs of instability
Small slide on NW aspect above Independence Mine. Pit profile performed adjacent to slide on looker's right.
Dry loose avalanche on Lost Couloir apron. Difficult to make out in the photo d/t flat light.
Snowpit profile performed adjacent to NW-facing crown.
