Observation: Hatcher Pass

Took the skis for a walk and a couple hot pow turns in a large arc around Independence Mine and up toward Dogsled Pass. I experienced no whoomphing or cracking. A couple hand pits showed warm snow all the way to the ground with a weak, thickish crust about four inches down. The light wasn’t great for spotting recent debris but I did see a few point releases on WSW steep aspects at about 4500′.
