Route & General Observations

Toured up to Hunter pass and then on to the ridge to the south. No signs of any red flags, just slough from previous skiers. Lots of folks out touring.

Weather

Foggy and socked in until descent, sun broke through. 20 degrees and minimal winds.

Snow surface

10cm powder on top of hard wind? crust.

Snowpack

Dug a snow pit at an ~32 degree East aspect. 90-100cm of snow pack, 10cm of powder on top of 60cm of 1 finger hardness hard pack. Remaining lowest 30cm was fist hardness rounded grains.

All three tests failed at an extremely thin layer of facets approximately 30cm below the surface.
