Location: Hatch Peak
Hatcher Pass to Hatch Peak. Dug a confidence inspiring, right side up pit. Couldn’t get any propogation or any movement with our column test. Solid base underneath the unconsolidated (wonderful) and soft top layer. Outstanding powder surfing.

Snow surface
Cold top layer of powder. Variable on ridgelines and near the summit, with some wind crusts.
Snowpack
No propogation on our quick column tests. Took significant effort to pry the lower, denser snow underneath the top layer. Dug to the ground, total snow depth of 110 cm with a big facet layer at the ground. Did a couple jump tests as well, no signs of instability.
