Observation: Hatcher Pass
Location: Hatch Peak
Traveled to Hatch Peak. Skied a NW & North facing aspect. Snow was very hard to ski. Heavy snow with a breakable crust in most areas. Gave way to “nicer” non-crusty very heavy snow near top of Hatch Peak.
Obvious signs of instability

Large avalanches all around. Lots of recent slides on most aspects, per the recent >30cm heavy wet snow. Wet loose avalanches, as well as slabs. One party member experienced a distinct whoompf when stopping on top of a rollover @ bottom of $1000 run.
Weather
Clear. Calm. Hazy sun through whispy clouds. 9c in Palmer, 3c @ Archangel Parking Lot, about -3c on Hatcher Peak.
