Moderate to strong north wind was transporting the 10cm of recent snow. Limited vis and flat light. -4C
Ridgetops were getting scoured with lee slopes loading. We dug at 2800′ on either side of the lower ridge: north and southwest aspects revealed poor snowpack structure with large basal facets. Our test results were CTN/ECTX, but the concern remains with continued windloading, that the smooth crust from late January down about 30cm is a potential bed surface for future windslab avalanches.
