Route & General Observations

Up from Cornbiscuit lot through Supercouloir Into Goldpan. Lots of debris off N face of cornbiscuit looks to be from during last storm or soon after. I was in PMS yesterday and didn’t see anything new in that zone. Some old crowns on S facing Gold Pan as well, from during or right after the storm, but not super fresh. We skied Goldpan and then back N side of Cornbiscuit. Several other parties back there. Weather was -10F at the car, and 20 or so on the ridges. No significant wind. No evidence of instability, no collapsing, no fresh activity. We saw lines skied on S, W, N aspects without activity. A little slough management for one of our party on a steeper (45 ish) line.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Clear. Strong inversion, -10F at the car around 20 on the ridges. No wind other than some downslope breeze early in the day.

Snow surface

Heavily wind effected on ridgetops. Light wind effect and texture otherwise.

Snowpack

Transition from sastrugi on the ridge to soft snow on the slope was without significant wind slab or pillows. Probing there was increasing density throught the latest storm then a weaker layer into increasing density again. This was repeated again in the top 50-60 CM.
