Observer Comments

It looks like there was a widespread avalanche cycle on April 13 with shallow (6-10") wet slabs, storm slabs and persistent slabs to D2 on all aspects. Today we had constant whumpfing above 3500 feet. We saw no avalanches today. We finished our tour by 2pm so there may have been some avalanching after that, the way it was greenhousing and warming up.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Clear in the morning to full greybird by 1pm. Calm wind. High 20's to the 30's.

Snow surface

Supportable crust on all aspects below 2500 feet. Above 2500 feet the crust was not supportable and had a ski penetration of about 6-10 inches. Atrocious skiing until the crust thawed.

Snowpack

Good for avalanching. Bad for skiing.
