Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Temperatures were warm with overcast to broken skies. Light winds out of the east. No precip.

Snow surface

The wind effected snow has softened in the high temps, leaving the sastrugi intact but somewhat wet and soft.

Snowpack

We dug snowpits below Treeline on north facing aspects. We noticed the new windblown snow has softened in the warm temperatures, leaving little hardness change between the new snow and the January facets (4F over F). CTN where the new snow was thin and CT23 RP on a thicker wind loaded area.
