Route & General Observations

Skied from Glen Alps PL along NE aspect of Blueberry Knoll. Then skied up Flattop trail past old debris from 10/7 Blueberry knoll trail avalanche to top of Blueberry Knoll. Observed snowboarders utilizing Blueberry Knoll crown face as jump.

Skies broken clouds with calm winds. 37deg at 1500.

Snow surface

In flats along base of Blueberry Knoll hill observed a thin layer of 1mm decomposing surface hoar overlying 12cm new snow from storm on 10/21. Evidence of wind transport at higher elevations. At 2646ft on NW. aspect of Blueberry observed 10cm 1Fwind slab over 12cm decomposing particles over MF crust. Hand shears slid on isolation.

Quick pit on NE aspect of Blueberry knoll at 2482ft, SA = 29deg. Ski boot penetration = 18cm. Total snowpack depth = 60cm. Top down; 60-59Fdecomposing surface hoar; 59-45Fdecomposing particles; 45-42PMFcrust; 42-361Fsmallrounds; 36-20Pclusteredrounds; 20-01Fsmallrounds.
