Observation: Turnagain

Route & General Observations

Drive through Turnagain Pass to check out the damage the NW outflow winds have done. Significant dust being blown along Turnagain Arm that coated the sides of the mountains (Kern, Blueberry, etc). No obvious signs of natural wind slab avalanches or cornice falls. Mainly sever wind effect, anti-tracks, crusts, scoured areas and wind ripples on northerly aspects that have dry snow. Ground blizzard along portions of the road. Winds were starting to let up around 3pm.
Not many folks out in this cold windy weather today.

Dust coating Kern and Blueberry mountains, looks like that brown snow is up to 2,500' or more!

Seattle Ridge, two small glide cracks can be seen with rumples under them. Something to watch and see how they are moving.
