Route & General Observations

Our group skinned up from the Independence Mine reaching Friendship Pass at around 1pm. We skied two laps on the Southeastern and Southern aspects of the main bowl leading to the pass. We did observe some sluffs coming down from the rocks on Southern and Southwestern aspects.

We did witness multiple dry loose slides starting in the rocks at higher elevations. The paths were relatively small and did not pull out any slabs with them.

Observer Comments

We did observe Hatcher's persistent weak layer in a snow pit dug at the start of the pass at 4320ft (4mm Facets on windboard.) We were unable to find reactivity in this layer.
