Route & General Observations

Driving through Turnagain, noticed a lot of sluffing; only one avalanche that left a crown on Seattle ridge. Fewer sluffs and no avalanches noted as we got closer to Summit.

At Fresno, followed established skin track up middle ridge; at the summit, traversed south and descended a slope that had been shaded all day.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

37 degrees at the parking lot; sunny with light hazy clouds; no wind

Snow surface

Roughly 35cm layer of slightly wet, settled snow

Snowpack

We dug a snow pit at about 2500 feet on a 32 degree south facing slope.

CT and ECT yielded no result, and the snow held together in large blocks. There was a noticeable weak layer about 150cm down but it did not react or fail in the tests.
