Route & General Observations

Toured up Fresno Ridge from the Manitoba Parking lot. Dug at 2750ft. Surface hoar at mid elevations on tour up with one notable collapse off the skin track. Poor structure to snowpack and some easy hand shears in handpits. Wind effect on ridge top.

Weather

Temps in high teens and low twenties. No precip and clams winds.

Snow surface

Ski pen 30cm and ski boot pen 60cm. Wind crust on exposed ridge line area.

Snowpack

Dug at 2750ft on an East aspect. Found a relatively protected area on Fresno Ridge. Top 1/3 of snow pack made up of partly decomposed and rounds with increasing density moving down. Middle 1/3 made up of lower density facets with rounds. Small density and grain size changes in this layer are most concerning. Bottom 1/3 starts with a thin knife crust and then becoming slightly softer descending to the ground.
