Route & General Observations

Skied laps on the lower east aspect of Fresno Ridge and enjoyed the spring sunshine. Riding conditions were excellent. Dug a pit at 2300′ to check out the new snow/sun crust interface in Summit.

Weather

20deg F and clear, light winds from the north increasing slightly throughout the day. Solar radiation was felt on our faces but not observed as affecting the snowpack surface throughout our tour.

Snow surface

6" of snow from the weekend on top of the 3/9 interface (1cm thick crust).

Snowpack

No red flags on the tour. 3/9 crust was reactive but not propagating in tests.
