Observation: Summit

Toured back into Fresno Creek along the summer trail. Trespass snowmachine
activity along powerline. No Whomping, collapse or cracking in the snowpack
seen. 6 to 8 inches of fresh snow, barely snowing on arrival, snowing hard with
wet snow on return. Supportable layer for touring under the 6 to 8 inches of
fresh. 31 deg at the start 34 at the end of the ski,gusty winds.

We dug a hasty pit. The nasty depth hoar layer is here too, like we’ve seen all
over the Summit Lake and Turnagain Pass areas. Picture shows marked layers in
snow pack.
