Significant wind transport noted the day prior

Weather

26 deg at car at the start. Mostly sunny all day. Not notably windy at tree line, flagging noted at ridges/peaks throughout the day.

Snow surface

At tree line, ~30-40 cm of new snow on top of light unconsolidated old snow. 5-10 cm of new snow on top of rain crust at low elevations

Snowpack

While approaching low angle alpine had whumph x3. Hand pit revealed ~50 cm of new snow on top of hard rain crust. Lower density snow noted above and below crust.
Recent avalanches noted on west, south, north aspects all at around 2200 ft. Formal pit not performed.
