Predominately overcast with scattered sun throughout the day with very light wind.
AAS Rec Level 2 Group toured up to Sky Scraper Ridge and skied the NE aspect of Eldorado Bowl off the ridge at approx. 4100′. The slope we skied ranges from 25-29 degrees.
Predominately overcast with scattered sun throughout the day with very light wind.
The snow surface was 2-3 cm of stellar rind mix over 30 cm of soft facets. We didn't find any wind impacted surfaces.
We dug in 2 different locations (one pit at 25 degrees and one pit at 28 degrees) and both groups found a layer of hard packed facets about 40cm from the surface of the snowpack. We did not find a layer of concern or reactivity. The snowpack has poor structure (facets below 40cm) and high stability (PST100/100) with no propagation in the tests that were performed (ECTX, CTN).
