Route & General Observations

The after math of slush cup had us moving slowly, but we wanted to get a few laps in from tree line none the less. On second lap, two riders triggered a soft storm slab on a steep convex roll. Estimated to be about 75 feet wide and depth only consisted of the new snow that fell (maybe 8 inches?). On the next roll another small pocket broke out (maybe 15 feet by 20 feet). Slab slid on stiff but edgeable sun crust beneath the storm snow. Snow was heavy but great powder!
