Route & General Observations

Hi Friends,

As we toured up Eddies the snow went from frozen solid supportable to a one-inch heat? crust just
below the final pitch at 3,000 feet. While skiing the south side into Ingram Creek at 12noon we pushed
off small wet loose slides from our skis at the top, to good wet snow skiing at the bottom near Ingram
Creek. The north side of Tincan was crust during out ascent, but the south side was nice soft wet snow
skiing down to the Center Ridge lot.

The wind was blowing today and I didn’t see any plumes of snow at Turnagain. It seemed like everything
to ridgetops was crusted at Turnagain, unlike the Hope and Anchorage areas that were pluming all day.

We finished our tour at 4pm and didn’t see any avalanches happening today, perhaps due to the cooling
wind. It was toasty in the valleys though!

Cheers!

Joe
