Obvious signs of Instability
Recent Avalanches- no
Shooting cracks – a few small (~8’) on steep wind loaded rollovers
Collapsing/Whoompfing – no

Surface Obs
2,500’ and below on W through North aspects – 8” light density snow – a mix of
near surface facets (1-2mm) with pockets of very small surface hoar (3mm)
Above 2,500 on all aspects – highly variable – ranging from the old Jan crust,
to ground, 2-10” wind slab, to 4” of light density snow to anti-tracks (see photo)
