Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Clear skies with valley fog that climbed up to the 1700' level as he day went on.
Temps were in the single digits in the drainage and in the teens above the fog.
Winds were light

Snow surface

About 14" of settled snow from the recent storm - still light and dry in most sheltered places. Wind crust on all exposed ridges and knobs. Surface hoar at all elevations ranging from 2mm to close to 10mm in size on ridges and exposed flatter areas.

Snowpack

Did not do any pits but snow in general appeared to be a bit upside down with denser snow near the surface and slighter lower density snow beneath. Most everything seemed to be bonding well.
