Wind was blowing 10-20mph from the WNW while ascending Eddies this morning. Chutes on the SW aspect were being quickly cross loaded and we got some shooting cracks and a few small slab releases while skinning around the ridge looking for a line to descend to the creek.
The wind was much mellower back up the valley towards Kickstep, but it did turn on ~10mph afternoon. That wind direction was more SW though, and was straight up the fall line. No cross loading noticed, and no signs of instability.
The sun was powerful today: the car was warm in the parking lot at the end of the day despite cold temps and winds.
