Route & General Observations

Eddies uptrack to about 1800′. We were trying to get a look at the natural avalanches on the lower Eddies face, but couldn’t get to them because of the whiteout conditions.

Weather

Moderate to heavy snow throughout the day, with about 4" falling during our 4 hour tour. Moderate winds with gusts into the 20s or 30s. Temperature in the teens to twenties.

Snow surface

New snow and blowing snow. Moderately deep trail breaking with maybe 16" ski penetration.

Snowpack

About a meter of new and settled snow on top of faceted weak layer. Total snow depth was 145 cm at 1200' and 245 cm at 1800'
