Route & General Observations

Started at the parking lot at noon. 27° and snowing lightly, snow picked up over the course of the day. Standard skin up to last tree stand at 2,100 ft. Wind gusts from E picked up as soon as we got out of the trees. Started to feel like one big wind slab above 2,000 ft. No whumpfhing or shooting cracks noted.

While skiing down NW face, leftmost skiier passed on the right of a toe of a recent avalanche. Unclear of width and size due to flat lighting and low visibility. Back in the parking lot received report that this had been a wind slab triggered by another party, everybody okay.

Back in the parking lot by 3:45. Snowing good, but didn’t appear to be nearly as much as the rest of Turnagain or Summit.
