Route & General Observations

Started touring around 09:00 am. Up to standard track. 33 F at the parking lot.
Calm winds, Precip: S-1. The crust from a few weeks ago was supportable @ 1000′ ASL, we new snow on top and bonding well. Poor visibility.
Small wind lips and wind loaded pockets are noticeable along the route. A steep rollover below tree line is already developing a cornice, where in the bowl below there’s an old skin track.
At noon, Precipitation: S2.
By 2:00 pm we got a break in the sky, an increasing valley fog rolled in the valley, poor visibility at the bottom, and a drop in temperatures on top.
Informal tests: hand shear moderate. A ski cut on a steep area got some sluff without much run.
The skiing was phenomenal on the trees.
