Route & General Observations

Crossed the river at gold mint then toured up the ridge to the upper valley

Snow depth 250cm

Dug 2 pits at 4500 ft on NE aspect 30 degrees. found 3 soft layers the first at around a ft. Ect 14 failure/Buried surface hoar. A second layer At 18 in failed after another few taps and a much deeper layer exists, But was not reactive.

Skied both n and ne aspects. 1 small slab popped slightly below ridge of ne aspect at 40 degrees. 6-8 inches deep 50 ft wide skier triggered Ran out 300 ft to bench at 4000. from 4000 to 3000 ft light sluffing slope from 30-40 degrees no large events.
