Route & General Observations

Toured up the bowl between ragged top and magpie yesterday, to the col that looks
into california creek/ fish’s breath. saw a handful of small to medium sized wet
point releases, appear to have come down in the last couple days. also saw a few
older looking crowns in the higher elevation steeper terrain, windslab or storm
snow from a couple weeks ago?. no signs of instability while we were up there.
melt freeze crust from creek to the col, thicker, more supportable the higher we
got. faceted weak snow below the crust to the ground. thin layer of surface hoar
forming on top of crust. skiing was fantastic, if you enjoy breakable crust and
alder bashing.
