Roller balls on solar aspects, crown line above steep cliff on nor side of bowl, South aspect. Estimated 2-4 ft crown.

Weather

Light winds, warm temps, mostly sunny.

Snow surface

Melt-freeze crust on recent snow, tricky skiing! Wet, heavy snow underneath.

Snowpack

Dug a pit on a small test slope, n-nw aspect, 2100', 32 deg slope. HS:230 cm. Performed two extended column tests, forest of which failed with quality 1 shear, popping out with energy 60cm down, on the old- new snow interface and the buried surface hoar from before this storm. ECTP-19Q1SP60CM. Second test in same pit was similar propagation but column did not pop out. ECTP-23Q2RP60CM. Obvious slab sitting on old weak snow that would take force or the right trigger but would be very large and dangerous.
