Route & General Observations

Sunburst, up to Taylor pass, over Gold Pan, up south side of Cornbiscuit into Super Bowl, out Magnum. We found wind effected snow on all aspects. Hand and pit tests showed very poor bonding between wind effected snow and loose snow beneath. There is a breakable rain crust up to nearly tree line.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Snow surface

Surface hoar is forming on all aspects, seemed to be especially pronounced toward the ridge lines. Wind effected snow/slab was widespread in aspect and elevation, though not bonded at all to the snow beneath it did not show any ability to propagate.

Snowpack

Pit on the south side of Cornbiscuit, facing due south, 35 degrees, 3,200'. 140cm total depth. ECTN21, failed in/near the new/old snow interface at 112 cm. No propagation, little energy in the system. Snow below ~112 cm was well bonded with a progressively decreasing density bottom to top with the exception of the basal facets.
